The Lodge at Kauri CliffsSet on 6,500 acres near Matauri Bay, Northland, The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs affords spectacular 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean. Cape Brett and the offshore Cavalli Islands are part of the panorama that can be viewed from the verandas, lounge and common room.
The main lodge, which overlooks the golf course and the Pacific Ocean, consists of a spacious beamed living room, meeting room, card room, fitness centre and small computer room. Gourmet a la carte dining is available in the main dining room or on the verandas.
Eleven outlying guest cottages, each with two guest suites, provide accommodation at Kauri Cliffs. Every suite offers its own private porch, comfortable bedroom with sitting area and open fireplace, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom. The cottages are nestled on the edge of a native forest overlooking the ocean and golf course.
Besides the championship golf course (in 2003, the course was selected 49th in the top 100 golf courses in the world by accepted authority Golf Magazine), amenities include two Astroturf tennis courts, a heated infinity swimming pool with spa, and a fully equipped fitness centre. Kauri Cliffs has three secluded private swimming beaches and with more than 1000 acres of native bush on the property, guests are able to see a great variety of natural wonders.
