Chalet Eiger is located in picturesque Acacia Bay on the shores of Lake Taupo. Owned and operated by Hea-Min Horvath-Song and Emil Horvath-Gerber, they bring the influence of their extensive travel and cosmopolitan background to the property.

The property, which was designed by a Swiss architect, offers four luxuriously decorated ensuite bedrooms each of which has a super-king ’Huesler’ bed rated as the best in the world by the Swiss Institute of Technology. Each bedroom also has its own deck from which guests can enjoy beautiful lake and mountain views. No expense has been spared with light, temperature and music control automated via a touch screen.

Emil and Hea-Min are both wine connoisseurs so the wine chosen to accompany dinner is selected from a wine cellar stocked with some of the finest Old and New World wines. Their international backgrounds are reflected in the delicious breakfast and dinner menus which are prepared by the in-house Chef. Conversant with French, Italian, Swiss, Korean, Japanese and Pacific cuisine, the Chef utilises local and home grown organic produce.
